Songs We Love is the latest of four (4) releases: Healing Waters- 2001, Restored- 2004, Save a Star, 2005, are the other works. This versatile minister of music garnered an early following from her convincing stint as Director of the Community Praise SDA Choir in Alexandria, Northern Virginia.
Her soulful soprano wraps itself around 10 beloved favorites in a way that melts the divide between the musical tastes of generations. "Take Me Back," "He"ll Do It Again, " "Shout To The Lord," and "Here I Am To Worship" are the more contemporary inspirationals on the album. "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Come Thou Fount" are delivered with a blend of passion and mellowness that is vintage Denise. She has not lost her gift of communication. Real talent.
Of her first release, we had proposed that songwriters NevillePeter and Jon Waller must certainly be thrilled with her interpretation and delivery of their creations. She had a convergence of talent assisting in producing that initial producy, including John Stoddart and Gylchris Sprauve.
The album is a rich experience, from the contemplative "Lover of My Soul," to the soulful "Jesus I Love Calling Your Name," popularized by Shirley Caesar.
