Neyra's first solo project, Comienzos (Beginnings) is a collection of original songs written variously by herself and sister in  law Trina Feliciano.

"En control," a Neyra composition that was previously popularized by the Los Feliciano trio (Neyra, her brother Abimael Feliciano, and his wife Trina), is a winner on this album, done once in Spanish, and later in the album in English.

"En El Jardin Del Eden," written by Trina and translated into Spanish by Neyra, is an upbeat recital of the Fall and the ultimate renewal invoked by the Tree of Life as captured in Revelation 21.
